Aim And Let Go

"Life is like archery. The same principles apply. We have to have a target. We have to have aim. We have to shoot for the target. We have to hit the target.

Even if we don’t hit the target right away, life teaches us our stance, our aim, how to conduct ourselves, when to raise our bow, when to draw and when to retreat.

We have to focus, steady and aim. To go through life without knowing where we’re going is like a bowless archer unable to hit the target. We have to have goals.

We must set our sight on the target, aim and let go. We must follow the arrow as it passes from our mind to the goal, our hand to the target, our heart to our Soul."

What Time Is It?

When was the last time you...
held someone close

When was the last time you said...
I forgive you
I love you
I cherish you
I hear you
I honor you

When was the last time you...
danced
laughed
cried
thanked God you’re alive
opened your eyes
refreshened

Lottery

"We curse the heavens and the universe for bringing us here in these conditions. We blame everyone except ourselves for the tangled web we have woven. It’s time to clear your throat, clean your tongue and have a little gratitude for being here in the first place. You are a lottery winner. You have won life. You have won the people in your life. You have won your lifestyle, your job, your intellect, your everything."

Channel It

"Life is full of suffering, but it’s also full of love. For everything that can cause heartache, there is something that can cause joy. Liquid Eyes

"It’s too much sometimes. The world crashes down on us and crushes our heart. We are pinned under a wheel of hurt; a Catherine Wheel of sorts, laying in excruciating pain with squashed limbs while our living remains are threaded through spokes and pole hoisted into the air for vultures and crows to feast.

We have to cry. It’s therapeutic, cathartic, a release of emotional density, chemicals and hormones that have built up in our brain over time. The chemicals and hormones disappear from our body through the form of tears, soothing our sadness or distress by withdrawing these chemical agents. Crying is a stoppage of emotional erosion that can spill over into spiritual inadequacy."

Dreamality

"When you ask me to name five things I want to be when I grow up, I have to pause because I will never grow up. Growing up means that life is over in a sense, that I can’t do things that I find enjoyable because of time or commitment constraints. So I will rephrase it to five things I am doing or will do in the future to enhance my life and those around me.

Dreams are important and the key to my existence. I am living my dreams. I am living them in my head, my heart, my consciousness and my Soul. In fact, my name for a dream is a “dreamality.” Partly because people think dreams are unattainable and the other part is because if we think dreams are possible, we can dream them into reality."

Short Circuit

"Something happened in that moment. Bells went off, lights blinked, life stood on it's hind legs. We actually made a connection. One of those genuine moments that you never forget. He made eye contact, smiled and was very open and responsive to my greeting. Anytime I make a connection with a Soul, it’s a success. Anytime we stop and acknowledge another person, it’s spreading the love and letting everything good in us merge with everything good in someone else.

I think we have modules of merit, kindness, compassion and humility inside of us to corroborate our spiritual bounty, but they are often short-circuited by desire for wealth, corporeality, greed and extravagance - - and we’ll do anything to get them, including cutting the throat of our fellow man to gain dominion over him."

Embrace The Sunset

"We are often under construction at various times in our lives, building and rebuilding our stamina, patience, faith, strength, courage and will.

Whatever God has in store for us is always better than we can imagine, but sometimes we have to get out of the way, clear our head, get out of the dust, and let it settle into a new structure - - something to withstand hell and high water.

When the dust settles, we will be transformed and we will embrace the change that has taken place. Change is good. Change is necessary. Change is vital to our growth."

My Exploding Head

"Sometimes I try to trick my brain into thinking it is dormant, but I know it’s not. I know for every reason I say to it, “stop working, turn off, go to sleep now,” it has a thousand other reasons to continue thinking, to stay on full tilt - - whether I like it or not.

So when I think I’m tired of firing salvos into the abyss, my eyes flitter as they follow the curve of the smoke from the artillery shells, watching them ricochet off the falling stars.

My brain doesn’t flinch as it cranks up and starts more verbose evacuation. I am a glutton for punishment as my brain puts me under the gun and instead of screaming, “Stop,” I scream, “More. Always keep learning, growing, and evolving. That’s what mind the gap is to me. Minding the ability to fill the void with life.

Humans have an unlimited capacity to learn. Unlike computers, no human brain has ever said, "Hard drive full." Even if we only use a percentage of our brain at a time, we are still engaging the infinite possibilities that reside in our craniums."

Destiny Architects

"Life is about leadership. Life comes from seeds and seeds come from life. We lead by example. Something inside us sparks the initial thought, which leads to action, fueled by passion and wrought with desire, determination and a willingness to fail.

Most great leaders won’t tell you that they have had plenty of failures on their journeys to greatness. Abraham Lincoln being one of the most famous failures. He has had enough failures to fill an ocean. That’s one reason motivational speakers use him as an example. Failure is a tool to success.

When you look at the Lincoln Memorial in Washington D.C. you don’t think, “Oh, what a failure.” You think, “Oh, what a monument.” That’s what leadership is - - monumental thinking - - monumental action - - monumental passion. Monumental movement moves mountains. Monumentality instills purpose.

We are the architects of our own destiny. Purveyors of decree, not once questioning our raison d'etre. We lay the groundwork, build pillars, and construct beams across uncharted blue skies - - eagle-eyeing the azure, indigo and cobalt that leads to the twilight of stars."

Sweet Cacophony

"We are constantly surrounded by sounds. Traffic -- radios -- televisions -- keyboards -- airplanes -- construction -- office machines -- elevators -- appliances, there is always something that chimes, hums, buzzes or dings.

Not to mention some people never stop talking - - Ever! I must say, I used to find these sounds so annoying, especially car alarms. The cacophony used to bring so much stress to my ears, then I thought, wait a minute, God devised all of these sounds and if God devised them they can’t be that bad.

I changed the way I heard these sounds. The moment I told myself that they weren’t annoying, they became softer, gentler and less stress to my hearing.

Now every time I hear them, I can’t help but to think, that’s just God moving through the universe."

Glass Eyes

"Photographs don't represent who we are, they are merely an image of an illusion. Photographs are counterfeits, not the real thing. They’re fakes, phantoms. I am not fake, I am genuine, that’s one reason I don’t like photographs. They’re just not me.

We are not a face. We are not a body. We are a concert of atoms and molecules held together by a chord that ties us all together. We are Soul swimming to freedom greeted by the eternal lifeguard who transports us home to the pinnacle of existence. That’s a much better pedigree than a face on glossy photo paper.

We only occupy this physical space to evolve into a non physical space. Spirituality is the tangible intangible. We can see it in the actions of others. We can feel it in words of love, kindness and thoughtfulness that touch us on the deepest level. All of those things stay with us longer than a photograph. A photograph can only be seen from the outside, spirituality can be seen from everywhere."

Curves Ahead

"Not only do we have to look ahead of the curve, but we have to roll through them with the least amount of damage. By rolling through them, we prepare ourselves for the unexpected, the unseen and the uncharted.

Sometimes, no matter how much we prepare, we can’t rehearse how we’re going to react to certain situations. Our reactions can vary from moment to moment. The second an obstacle gets in our way, we can either stop completely or go around it.

Looking ahead of the curve improves our driving and overall skills to negotiate stress, disappointment, or pain. We have to look ahead of the curve as baggage flies through our rear window. If we keep looking from side to side, or in our rear view mirror with regret, we don’t see the joy that is now and around the corner."

Negativity Versus Will

"Some of us automatically think that if someone says we can’t do it, then we can’t. Negativity is like a tornado that knocks you down flat and continues to drag you downward into a useless pit where you can’t climb out or even move.

Negativity adds another layer of pressure to achievement. Along with everything associated with our goals, the little voice in our head says, 'If so and so says I can’t do it, then they must be right. I should just give up now.'

If it is that easy to give up your goals, then you’re probably not serious enough to pursue them in the first place. Negativity is the resistance -- you are the immovable force. Who will win the battle of wills? "

Fly Your Destiny

"What if you woke up this morning and felt like a failure? What if you felt that everything in your life was in vain? That no matter what you do, you fail? You are not alone.

Millions of people feel like that today. They feel like they can’t go on. Like their presence doesn’t matter. We all feel discouraged at various times in our lives. It’s natural. Failure is a part of success. If you don’t fail at some point, you won’t succeed. We are all designed differently. Just like we are meant to succeed in certain aspects, we are equally meant to fail.

Caterpillars are born with the gift of flight, but without wings? They don’t know they can fly until they transform into a butterfly. You are a here to fly. You can succeed beyond your wildest imagination. Create your flight plan and soar to the heights within your Soul. Fiber Optics

"Though life is not like a box of chocolate, it is like a screenplay. We have series of events where we feel we are up against the wall and we have to find our resolve. We have to rely on our ingenuity to propel us through the situation unscathed. If we develop a strong resolve, we are satisfied knowing that we did the best we could. Like in a film, a strong resolution leaves us feeling satiated.

So I sit here in this unyielding library chair rolling with it while I transcribe notes that were fired up in darkness. I pause to peruse my mental dictation, hoping not to produce verbigeration in trying to make sense of this technology conundrum.

Ah, the keyboard doth bring me solace in a blogtastical harmony. I’m not reliant on locked and loaded fiber optics hyperactively converting light to electricity and firing through the wires to assemble clear voices, ambient resonance and crisp HD spitting images in millions of colors and sizes. While it’s true, one’s sighs fits all, I am resigned to sit here as long as it takes to splash these words onto this screen with a song in my heart.

Your Inner Prophet

They lack the skills to maintain a conversation and they are left to utter Morse code between ellipsis points.

It has got to be something more than an electronic breakdown in the brain. Is it such a stretch to say something inspiring? Profound? Funny? Heartfelt? Real?

I think people have stopped having enthusiasm for life. They have stopped enjoying the moment. They have been put to sleep by a life less than perfect. A life that they are not willing to work. Rain has fallen on their dreams and they have abandoned them in puddles on the side of the road. Let’s go deep for once. Break the surface. Wake the silence. Spark the darkness. Get to the root. Vacancy

"You can see it in their eyes. The vacancy. Dispiritedness. Deadly silence speaking volumes. People mouthing the words of loneliness. Walking through the shadow of their lives. Souls that are AWOL, pulled along like hollow husks on an invisible track connected to nowhere and nobody.

Even in a supermarket when we are shopping, do we bother to speak to people -- people in the flesh, not on the other end of that little electronic mishap that’s responsible for reducing people to a decibel controlled by a translucent volume button -- or even worse -- a God awful ringtone.

That’s the whole problem in a nutshell. We are adept at cell phoning, text-messaging and I-M-ing our BFF, but not E-Moting or honing our antiquated communciation skills -- the ones before the technolgy revolution short-circuited our evolution.

We are a world of bumper car drivers who are resigned to jolt others but not feel them. We don’t want to get out of our cars for fear of being left behind. By bumping into each other, we push each other away, instead of embracing each other and holding them close.

I am convinced that there are millions of Souls in the universe trying to connect. Trying to intermingle their energies into each other to get that unspeakable communion of Soul and connect with a supreme force."
